In honour of the National Day of Mourning, members of Town Council and Administration gathered at the Civic Centre to lower the flags and observe a moment of silence in recognition of the lives lost or injured to workplace accidents.

Across Canada, the National Day of Mourning is officially observed on April 28. The National Day of Mourning offers us an opportunity to recognize the 165 workers in Alberta who lost their lives through work related illness or injury in 2023. This is also an opportunity to reflect and re-commit to the culture of health and safety in the workplace.
