Community Grants

Every organization knows the difficulty of finding available funding. The Town is here to help you and your organization find those resources and get things moving. The Town of Drayton Valley has established grants to support individuals and organizations in the community who are looking for funding for sports and events.

Each quarter, the Town of Drayton Valley accepts grant applications for review and awards grants to support local organizations and/or individuals who apply to the three grant programs listed below.

Deadlines

  • First quarter allocation deadline: January 1
  • Second quarter allocation deadline: April 1
  • Third quarter allocation deadline: July 1
  • Fourth quarter allocation deadline: October 1

 

Roger Coles Memorial Youth Sport Grant

Allocated annually for athletes of 18 years or younger who will be competing in a championship competition at the following levels: Western Canadian, National, or International.

Community Event Grant

Allocated annually for events which are hosted by non-profit organizations to raise funds or require donations for worthwhile projects, programs, or services including:

– Public education in areas of health/ wellness /safety
– Community events/ services
– Direct Services provided in areas of health/ wellness /safety
– Visual/ performing arts and culture
– Leisure/ sports/ recreation

Youth Arts, Heritage and Culture Grant

This is allocated to provide financial assistance to local youth with expenses associated with different levels of study, competition, or participation in an event or program that includes:

  • Culture/Heritage
  • Art including – film, video new media or music
  • Literary
  • Visual, theatrical and performing arts
