Urban Housing Program
Our intent at the Urban Housing Program is to give residents in our community a “hand up rather than a handout” with a goal to provide quality, affordable, supportive housing for families and individuals who are living and working in our community. In the pursuit of affordable housing, the Urban Housing Program will promote an enlivened community, built on mutual respect and emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Our purpose is to have the spaces we rent become real homes for our tenants.
As a landlord, our goal is to provide residents with more than just shelter. The purpose is to provide residents in our community an opportunity to work towards financial independence. By offering tenants access to programs that increase their capacity to make wise choices about their financial futures that will increase their ability to attain independent housing, we hope that the Urban Housing Program is the steppingstone needed for tenants to attain a better quality of life.
Who Are We?
The Urban Housing Program is part of the Town of Drayton Valley’s affordable housing plan. To date, it includes the Urbanata Apartments, 2 Condos at Centre Court and 8 Units at Cadence Court.
Affordable housing in Drayton Valley has been made possible through financial support of the Province of Alberta’s Municipal Sustainability Program and the Town of Drayton Valley.
The day-to-day operations of the Urban Housing Program is managed by the Community Services Program Coordinator with the Town of Drayton Valley.
We intend for the Urban Housing Program to be a steppingstone to a secure future. Drayton Valley and District Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) will provide support and access to resources for our tenants while they work towards financial security.

The Brazeau Foundation
The Brazeau Foundation is the appointed Housing Management Body under ministerial order to provide and administer supportive housing programs for Brazeau County, the Town of Drayton Valley, and the Village of Breton. They provide affordable living for independent seniors and subsidy for low to moderate income families.
