Recreation Fee Assistance Program

The Town of Drayton Valley Recreation Fee Assistance Program provides Drayton Valley residents the opportunity to participate in the Town’s recreation programs at the Team Auctions Health and Fitness Centre and the Ricochet Oil Corp. Aquatic Centre at a 75% subsidized cost.

To qualify for this program, you must:

  • Have proof of being a Town of Drayton Valley resident (utility bill or government issued mail showing name and legal land address)
  • Show gross household income that is below Statics Canada Low Income Cut off (LICO) (See Chart Below).
  • Applicants will need to provide supporting documents that verify Household Income and Residency. Documents are required for all adults in the household.

Examples of supporting documents are as follows:

  • Current Alberta Health Benefits Card or Alberta Income Support Summary to verify income.
  • Notice of Assessment from the most recent tax year for all adults listed on the application to verify income and residency. If you do not have a copy of your assessment, you can obtain one by calling the Canada Revenue Agency at 1-800-959-8281 to receive a copy by mail.
  • Two (2) most recent pay stubs or bank statements to verify income.
  • Driver’s License or Current Utility Bill to verify residency. Must be legal land address not post office box.

Attach the required residency and income verification documents to your application form

Please be prepared to bring your most recent Canada Revenue Agency Notice of Assessment, proof of identification, and your current contact information. You may be required to set up an appointment depending on staff availability.

Definition of family: Up to two adults and their dependent children/youth living in the same residence. You may apply for up to 7 people.

QUALIFYING ACTIVITIES

Activities that qualify must:

  • Be a Town of Drayton Valley program or activity and,
  • Be a minimum of 4 days/classes in length, be a camp, or be a membership.

This program cannot be used for reimbursable fees (eg. fundraising or uniform expenses), travel to out-of-town competitions, or programs of three days or less.

You will be contacted regarding the approval or denial of your application.

For applications that have been approved, the Town of Drayton Valley will provide a letter of approval to the applicant confirming their approval and what programs and services can be accessed.

All completed applications are to be in a sealed envelope and dropped off at:
