Protective Services

The Protective Services Division plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of Drayton Valley residents, businesses, and visitors. Through a combination of firefighting, emergency response, enforcement, public education and policing services, the division protects lives and property, responding swiftly to emergencies and helping prevent incidents before they occur.

Additionally, the department is tasked with the creation, maintenance and enforcement of municipal bylaws designed to promote safe, respectful and welcoming environments throughout the community. These bylaws address issues ranging from noise concerns and property standards to traffic safety and community behaviour, helping maintain order and protect quality of life.

Public education is another key component of the departments work. By offering training, outreach programs, and informational resources, the departments help raise awareness about fire safety, crime prevention, and emergency preparedness. This proactive approach aims to empower community members with the knowledge they need to stay safe and reduce risk in their everyday lives.
