Online registration is now available for programming at the Ricochet Oil Corp. Aquatic Centre!
The Town of Drayton Valley is thrilled to be able to welcome residents and visitors to the Ricochet Oil Corp. Aquatic Centre, opening February 5, 2023!
This brand new facility includes an 8 lane, 25 metre lap pool, that is deep enough for safe diving, a leisure pool with a lazy river and multiple spray features that is warm enough for small child comfort, as well as a steam room, hot tub, family change room and gender specific change rooms. Additionally, the facility has a multi-purpose room and support spaces.
This facility was built with energy efficiency in mind! Sustainable materials, finishes and construction techniques were used during the building process, the roof holds a 300kw photovoltaic system that provides solar energy to the centre, and all plumbing utilizes low flow technology. By using LED fixtures, sensors and timed controls for lighting, a hydronic heating system, and 95% efficient condensing boilers and motors, the Ricochet Oil Corp. Aquatic Centre meets or exceeds the 2017 NECB guidelines! Continuous gutters and surge tanks also help alleviate water waste due to splash out.
