Drayton Valley, as well as the surrounding area, has several options and opportunities for outdoor activity! Take advantage of our many parks, green spaces and playgrounds, have a game of soccer, baseball or tennis at any of our numerous sites. There are several golf courses within a half hour drive of town as well as a ski hill only 10 km from Drayton Valley. As per the Community Standards Bylaw 2022/06/P, parks are closed between 11:00 pm and 5:00 am.
4-S Skatepark
4804-44 Street
4-S Skatepark was constructed in September, 2012, and was immediately occupied by skateboarders, BMX riders and spectators. Initiated by a group of enthusiastic young people, the skateboard park received funding and in-kind contributions from local fundraising, various corporate sponsors, the Town of Drayton Valley, the County of Brazeau and the Province of Alberta. The construction of the Skatepark is a fine example of community youth “Pulling Together.”
The Skatepark’s signature feature is the “fun track”; other features include a horseshoe (open) bowl, stair sets, manny pads, ledges, hips, rails, gaps and is open to all ages and abilities. Click here for more information on Skateparks located near you.
ARC Bark Park
5801-49 Ave, head West on 50 Ave. towards 53 St., turn left on 58 St.
The ARC Bark Park is a fully fenced off-leash dog park in Drayton Valley that provides owners a safe environment to bring their four-legged friends to run and socialize with other dogs. .

Outdoor Skating Rink

The newly constructed outdoor skating rink is located at Discovery Park and is open during the winter months for free public skating.
The Town of Drayton Valley encourages its residents to enjoy recreational and sporting opportunities during the entire year. In an effort to support the community in providing opportunities for recreation and sport, specifically in the winter months, the Town has established a Neighbourhood Outdoor Skating Surface Policy for the establishment of neighbourhood outdoor rinks. The policy also addresses the use of storm water retention ponds for winter skating purposes.
If your neighbourhood has a group interested in participating in the Neighbourhood Outdoor Ice Rinks Program this year, please read through the Neighbourhood Outdoor Rink Program Procedures and complete and return the included form as soon as possible.
Splash Park

The community’s outdoor water Splash Park, next to the Park Valley Swimming Pool, is fun for the entire family. The Splash Park features various sprinklers and water toys and is a magnet for children during the summer months. The park operates during the summer months.
Soccer Fields
The Town has 4 soccer fields available for public use, they are located at the Lions West Valley Park, Park Place, and MacKenzie Park. Additional soccer fields are also located on school grounds.
Tennis Courts
Rotary Park 5030 – 48 St.

There are two tennis courts in the town: one is located in Rotary Park adjoining the Park Valley Pool at 5030 – 48 Street. The second is on Madsen Avenue, behind the Drayton Valley Hospital Complex. Nets are provided. No rental fees apply, use is based on a first come basis.
