Utility Accounts

The Town of Drayton Valley provides water, sewer and curbside waste collection services to its residents, and is committed to delivering sustainable services. Your utility bill covers water, sewer and curbside waste and recycling collection.

If you are moving to Drayton Valley you need to set up a utilities account to pay for water & sewer services and waste collection. If you are already a resident and are moving to another location within the town, you need to update your account with the Town.

Moving into a new home or building?

Homeowners, Commercial Property Owners & Renters

If you are a New Resident needing utility services, you can come in to the Civic Centre or Call 780-2210 or email utilities@draytonvalley.ca to set up a new account.

A $200.00 meter deposit per account and a $45.00 Administrative fee will be applied to your first bill payable by phone or online on our website via Option Pay with VISA or MasterCard (a small fee through Option Pay will apply) , Cash or Cheque in person at the Town Office, or by setting up your account on your online banking app. *Meter Deposits of $200.00 will be refunded or applied to any outstanding charges when you close your account.

Moving or Closing your utility account

If you are moving out of Drayton Valley, or moving from one property to another within the town, you will have to close your current utilities account and open a new one for the new address. This can be done online or in person or by calling 780-514-2210 or emailing utilities@draytonvalley.ca

If you have a change in mailing address and phone number, it is the owner/renters responsibility to update the Utilities department by calling 780-514-2210 or emailing utilities@draytonvalley.ca so we have a current information on ones account.

Please note: Utility account numbers do not transfer from one address to another. A new utility account number will be provided to you on your first utility bill at the new location. Please be sure to update this information with your bank if you pay for your utilities through online or telephone banking.

Utility Consumer Advocate

To learn more about finding the right gas or electric company for you and for questions regarding rates and regulatory policies, contact the Utility Consumer Advocate . The Utility Consumer Advocate is established to educate, advocate and mediate for residential, farm and small business utility customers.
