Campus Alberta Central
The Town of Drayton Valley proudly introduces Campus Alberta Central as its TAB-affiliated educational partner. Campus Alberta Central (CAC) is a joint venture between Olds College of Agriculture & Technology and Red Deer Polytechnic that provides post-secondary programs to communities throughout the central Alberta region.
Student success is a high priority for Campus Alberta Central. Community Learning Partners within the region provide access to information, technology and support to help ensure students have a positive learning experience.
Agribusiness Finance Certificate
Whether you're a rural business owner or an agricultural lender, this online program will assist you in promoting better business practices within conventional and non-conventional agriculture. The certificate consists of four required courses and one elective. The four required courses have no prerequisites and can be taken on a stand-alone basis if desired.Full program details »
Agricultural and Heavy Equipment Technician Certificate
Learning from experienced, Journeyperson certified, industry-trained instructors, you will receive hands-on education with exposure to an extensive workshop and tool room. This comprehensive program will give you a thorough understanding of engines, hydraulics, braking, electrical, starting, charging, fuel systems and more. Our classrooms are discipline specific (i.e. motor lab, machinery lab) with small student to instructor ratio and personal workbenches.Full program details »
Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) Entrance Exam
The Pre-Apprenticeship Exam Training program consists of four individual courses to prepare participants of the trades industry for success in their continued employment, education and mandatory qualifications exams. These courses are self-directed with no instructor, yet interactive with innovative learning exercises.Students who wish to register to become an apprentice and learn on the job, without the prerequisite high school education, must write an entrance exam based on Math, Science, and English Skills. Similarly, those challenging the trade credential may benefit from these courses if they require some upgrading in basic Science, Math or English.

Beef Production Certificate
This exciting beef certificate will provide online training to students interested, or already employed, in the livestock work force.Each course within this certificate can be taken as a stand-alone course to enhance your current skill set, or you can combine all five to complete your beef production certificate. Course specifics include: Beef Production Systems; Basic Handling, Facilities and Equipment; Pasture and Grazing Management; Applied Nutrition and Feeding; and Beef Health and Disease.

Cannabis Production Program Level I
This program prepares graduates for employment in the growing cannabis production industry, or to support those already in the workplace. This program provides entry level job-based training and is committed to providing graduates the skills needed to enter into employment with a range of cannabis producers, from medicinal to adult use. Students can expect to spend eight weeks in each of the intensive online courses followed by an optional four-week blended course which includes a one-week field study. This optional field study will will include working in industry and being supported by an online experience.Full program details »
Hospitality & Tourism Management Diploma
During this program, you’ll be equipped with practical knowledge and skills required for exceptional front-line guest experience, as well as leadership and management skills to pursue exciting supervisory and management careers.Throughout the program, you’ll engage in a variety of industry field excursions that serve to enhance your learning experience and provide valuable networking opportunities. Two work-integrated learning internships completed over the summer reinforce the knowledge and skills developed during class instruction.

Delivery Methods Explained
Face-to-Face: Courses where the instructor and the students are interacting at the same time, at the same physical location.
NLC LIVE Online™: Scheduled classes online, where students log in to a program with instructors and peers on the same day, at the same time.
NLC Anytime, Anywhere: Courses where you do not have scheduled classes, but where you log in to a program online at any time and do your work.
Blended: Courses where you have a combination of face-to-face and online (NLC Anytime, Anywhere and/or NLC LIVE Online™).
Dual Credit: Students in high school can experience College programs while earning post-secondary credits.

University of Alberta Online & Continuing Education
For over one hundred years, the Online and Continuing Education division has been extending the University of Alberta experience beyond the campus and the classroom to bring adult learners a wealth of continuing education, professional development, and lifelong learning opportunities. Bachelor of Nursing
Interested in making a difference where you live? Small towns across Alberta are becoming home to a unique undergraduate nursing program, one that is centered on providing a world-class nursing education directly in the local community.Why choose Nursing?
Nurses ask questions such as: How do people respond to illness? In what ways are lives impacted by sickness? How are patients cared for when they are unwell? Nurses working in rural communities apply their skills and knowledge across a variety of clinical settings to support the health and wellbeing of their community members, all while building strong relationships with their colleagues and patients.
In the rural community route, you'll get the opportunity to learn where you live through a blended course delivery model that includes clinical placements in your community. You will participate in engaging theory courses as well as hands-on labs that support your learning, so you can apply your skills right away.

The TAB program facilitates local post-secondary learning opportunities for residents of the Town of Drayton Valley and the Brazeau County region. Administrators reserve the right to periodically review and update the program and its funding criteria. Operation of the TAB program is subject to the availability of funding.
