Choosing the Right Electrical Site

Understanding your trailer or RV’s electrical needs will help ensure a smooth and comfortable stay at Drayton Valley RV Park.

All of our full‑service RV sites provide 30‑amp electrical service, which is suitable for most recreational vehicles. However, it’s important to manage how many electrical appliances you run at the same time.

How 30‑Amp Service Works

A circuit breaker is designed to protect your RV and campground electrical systems from overload or short circuits. If too much power is drawn at once, the breaker will automatically shut off the electricity.

When you arrive at your campsite, you’ll often plug in items such as:

  • Refrigerator
  • Water heater
  • Battery converter

You may then turn on appliances like:

  • Air conditioning
  • Microwave
  • Coffee maker
  • Television or lights

When several high‑draw appliances run at once, it’s easy to exceed 30 amps. If that happens, the breaker will trip and need to be reset.

Helpful Tip 💡

We recommend adding electrical items gradually rather than turning everything on at once. Many appliances draw more power during start‑up, and spacing them out can help prevent tripped breakers.
