CEIP Overview
The Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP) is an innovative financing tool for property owners to finance up to 100% of energy efficiency upgrades and renewable energy installations. CEIP offers competitive financing and makes repayment convenient through your property’s regular tax bill.
This program provides and affordable way for property owners to make energy-saving improvements to their homes through low interest financing. Plus, the program creates opportunities for local contractors.

CEIP is administered by Alberta Municipalities. Please visit their website for emerging program details here.
Qualified Contractors
The Town encourages local contractors to get involved in CEIP. Information on how to become a CEIP Qualified Contractor is available here.
Electricians, solar installers, renovation contractors, plumbers, and appliance installers will all be needed to support property owners with their CEIP projects.
Additionally, CEIP applicants will require and NRCan Energy Audit, so Energy Auditors will be needed. If you are interested in becoming an NRCan Energy Advisor, more information is available here.
Canada Greener Homes Grant
Residents interested in CEIP can prepare by applying for the Canada Greener Homes Grant, which provides funding for NRCan Energy Audits. The grant also provides $5000 towards Energy Efficiency Projects, so if residents have a smaller project, this grant may cover 100% of costs.
