Volunteerism in Drayton Valley
Have you got SKILLS, TIME and a PASSION for social change?
Every year, millions of volunteers give their time, energy and skills to make our communities better. It's also a great way to meet interesting and creative people – and to feel good about doing something for your community. The ways you can take part are almost limitless:
- Read a story to children
- Show others what is recyclable and how to compost
- Phone people when messages need to be delivered
- Play cards, read a book, visit people who would love your company
- Teach youngsters how to knit, garden or can vegetables
- Shovel walks for the elderly, the ill or people with mobility issues
- Help take care of abandoned animals
- Teach the public about nature, plants and wildlife
- Keep an eye on your community and help keep it safe
- There are many more examples where your talents and time are needed; you don't need a vehicle, tools, experience and sometimes you can be the biggest help right from your own house!
