Location and Access
The Town of Drayton Valley is located 90 minutes southwest of Edmonton, Alberta, three hours northwest of Calgary and 70 minutes from the Edmonton International Airport.
If you are driving from south Edmonton or the Edmonton International Airport, Drayton Valley can be reached by driving south on Highway 2 and turning west onto Highway 39 (the Drayton Valley/Leduc turn off). If you’re leaving westward from Edmonton, take Highway 16 (the Yellowhead Trail) and turn south onto Highway 22 (Entwistle/Drayton Valley turn off).
From Calgary, either take Highway 2 north and turn west on Highway 39 or take the Trans Canada Highway (Highway 1) west and turn north on Highway 22 (The Cowboy Trail).

Air Service
The Drayton Valley Airport is an all-weather facility and has a 4,000 foot (1,219 m) runway. Many oil and gas companies, as well as private pilots, use the Drayton Valley Airport.
Landing lights at the airport are radio-activated and there is parking for planes on the apron. Refueling facilities exist for planes and helicopters. There is a medium terminal building with a lounge. An airport manager is available during normal business hours. There is also a parking lot on-site.

The airport is a 24-hour facility offering V.F.R. and I.F.R. non-radar flight rules. We use an I.L.S. approach system.
Size and capacity: The current runway runs north to south, and has recently been upgraded to 4,500 ft. with a 600 ft. run-off apron.
This airport can accommodate every type of private aircraft, including business jet traffic. The major oil companies that operate out of Drayton Valley routinely use this airport for their transportation needs.
Specifications: The Drayton Valley Airport is a single runway field. There are no restrictions on aircraft weight or passenger loads. The runway is equipped with runway identification lights.
Operating Environment: There aren’t any noise abatement procedures for the airport. Departure is the standard turn out rule. Arrival on runway 36 follows standard approach rules for an uncontrolled airport.
Drayton Valley is only 95 km from Edmonton International Airport, which will support the remainder of your freight and commercial needs.
Rail Service
Canadian National Railways serves Evansburg, which is 41 km north of Drayton Valley.
Highways
Highway 39 links Drayton Valley with Leduc. From there, connections can be made to Edmonton and Calgary via Highway 2.
Highway 22 goes north to Entwistle and Mayerthorpe and it connects with the Yellowhead Highway (Highway 16). Highway 22 south goes to Rocky Mountain House and Crowsnest Pass. Highway 22 connects to the Trans-Canada Highway, as well.
