Fall Cleanup FAQ
The Fall Cleanup is for households in the Town of Drayton Valley. This Program enables the pickup of items that cannot be placed in your blue bags for recycling or picked up by our curbside collection provider. Public Works Department Staff will collect the items the week of October 10-13, 2017.

Where do I place my items?
Place your items in the same location as you would place your waste collection tote. Ensure that items are placed at a one meter distance from your tote and recycling to ensure your weekly collection is not affected.
What time do I need to have my items out for pick up?
Your items for the Fall Clean Up must be prepared and ready for pickup by 8:00 a.m. on your designated day.
What do I do to get ready for Fall Clean Up?
You must have your items bagged and ready for pick up prior to 8:00 a.m. Loose items must be bagged and placed within one meter of where your waste collection tote is placed. Tree branches and renovation materials must be bundled, and cannot exceed 4 feet in length and 2 feet in width.
What day is my pickup?
The pickup schedule is divided into quadrants with the center being 50th Street and 50th Avenue. Pickup begins on October 10 and concludes October 13. The schedule is: SW Quadrant – October 10, SE Quadrant – October 11, NE Quadrant – October 12, NW Quadrant – October 13.
What is the maximum amount I can place to be picked up?
The maximum weight that will be collected is 500kg.
Some of my items are left over from the Curb It! Program, will they be picked up?
Yes, if you have items remaining from the Curb It! Program and they cannot be repurposed, you are required to ensure they are placed properly for pickup.

What if I have hazardous household waste, electronics or other recyclable materials?
The Material Recovery Facility (MRF) located at the Aspen Waste Management Facility collects recyclable material and household hazardous waste. Acceptable items can be brought to the MRF throughout the year at no charge.
Is there a fee for appliances like fridges, freezers, air conditioners, and other appliances that have Freon or CFCs (Chlorofluorocarbons)?
Yes, there is a $60.00 fee for the disposal of items that contain Freon or CFCs. For fridges or freezers with Freon or CFCs please contact the Town of Drayton Valley directly at 780 514 2200 to arrange for payment and pick up. Please be sure to call prior to your designated pickup day to ensure your appliance is collected.
