Census Data 

Each year, Alberta Municipal Affairs provides an opportunity for municipalities to conduct a population census. In 2006, the Town of Drayton Valley took advantage of this opportunity. As of May 16th, 2006, the population of Drayton Valley is 6,579 residents, a 5.6% increase over the population recorded in 2003.

In 2006 Stats Canada also conducted a Federal census. The results published in a 2007 report a further increase in our population. The official population figure for Drayton Valley is now 6,893.

Drayton Valley is located 766.30 metres (2,750 feet) above sea level. The amount of hours of sunlight ranges from roughly 17 hours in summer to 7 hours in winter.
