Communications Nearly all popular telecommunication and internet services are available in Drayton Valley from major, local and long-distance carriers.
DVnet, our local Internet Service Provider, was started by the town with the help of partners in the field of wireless service. They offer dial-up and high-speed access for businesses in need of rapid-data transfer. DVnet was the very first rural ISP in Alberta and they helped Drayton Valley become the first rural town with dial-up access In 2003, Drayton Valley took a significant step forward to become one of the first major rural towns connected to the Alberta Government’s Supernet fibre service. Access to the service will be provided through DVnet. This wireless partnership makes high-speed service available to residents and businesses throughout Brazeau County. For more information on services and pricing, call 780-514-2200 or check out the Drayton Valley Municipal Library page on our website. Radio Communications, Cellular Services and ADSL services are also available from local agents. Satellite and cable television services are available from major providers. Drayton Valley has its own local newspaper, the Drayton Valley Western Review. The Western Review is published on Tuesdays and has a circulation of over 4,200 readers. It covers the areas north of the Yellowhead Highway (Hwy 16), past Evansburg and Entwistle and south of Highway 39 (east of Warburg). CIBW 92.9 FM Drayton Valley Western Review |
