Community Grants and Scholarships
Every organization knows the difficulty of finding available funding. The Town is here to help you and your organization find those resources and get things moving. The Town of Drayton Valley has established grants to support individuals and organizations in the community who are looking for funding for sports and events.
The Town of Drayton Valley Scholarship for Municipal Excellence
This scholarship is awarded annually by the Town of Drayton Valley to a worthy student from each of Drayton Valley’s high schools who is entering a post secondary institution with a view to pursuing a career in local government.

Roger Coles Memorial Youth Sport Grant
Allocated annually for athletes of 18 years or younger who will be competing in a championship competition at the following levels: Western Canadian, National, or International.

Community Event Grant
Allocated annually for events which are hosted by non-profit organizations to raise funds or require donations for worthwhile projects, programs, or services including:
– Public education in areas of health/ wellness /safety
– Community events/ services
– Direct Services provided in areas of health/ wellness /safety
– Visual/ performing arts and culture
– Leisure/ sports/ recreation
Youth Arts, Heritage and Culture Grant
This is allocated to provide financial assistance to local youth with expenses associated with different levels of study, competition, or participation in an event or program that includes:
- Art including – film, video new media or music
- Visual, theatrical and performing arts
Safe and Healthy Community Allocation
At the outset of the Automated Traffic Enforcement Program, Council has approved the details of the policy for allocating the funds generated from ATE. Organizations seeking access to the funds must meet the eligibility criteria within the policy. Applications for access to the Safe and Healthy Community Allocation will be considered throughout the year, with proposals going to a Regular Meeting of Council as required for a formal decision.
