Student Finance Board:
Information for student financial assistance and submitting applications Employment Drayton Valley has a high demand for employees in the oilfield and hospitality industries. While for the most part there is an abundance of work, things can slow down significantly in the oilfield at various times of the year due to road bans, repairs and during spring breakup when the ground is too soft to support heavy equipment. Try to plan for those slow times and have something lined up before those months approach. Even if you get a fantastic job in Drayton Valley right away, remember that your first paycheque may not arrive for at least two weeks after you start your new position. Preferably, arrive with enough money to last you at least one month while you look for a job and settle in.
